HERNDON, VA and DAYTON, OH–December 3, 2009
Digicon Corporation, an Information Technology service provider and Standard Register (NYSE:SR), a premier provider of document management and workflow solutions, have signed an agreement that will enable Digicon to market Standard Register’s SMARTworks® Clinical Enterprise and related solutions and services for enhancing patient safety, improving efficiency and reducing costs.

Digicon has served government agencies for over 20 years.  Now as a Standard Register solutions provider, it can offer Federal and military treatment facilities a proven approach for transitioning from paper-based processes to more efficient, cost-effective electronic documentation, required for electronic medical records (EMR).

Currently used by the nation’s leading civilian hospitals, SMARTworks Clinical Enterprise can support the government's goal of improving patient outcomes by facilitating more accurate, efficient capture of patient information, and providing easier access to information by authorized staff.  These capabilities are key to achieving the Administration's goals and the broader goals of the healthcare industry.

“We are pleased to have this opportunity to represent Standard Register’s solutions which are in perfect alignment with our mission and commitment to patient safety and reduced costs in the healthcare market,” said John Wu, president and CEO, Digicon Corporation.

“Federal and military hospitals face considerable challenges as they attempt to transform their paper-intensive processes and migrate to EMR,” said Brad Cates, president of Standard Register’s Healthcare Business Unit.  “With Digicon’s customer-centric approach and our proven technology services and solutions, we can help hospitals establish the essential foundation for EMR success and achieve their desired clinical and business outcomes.”
